hi i have a custom m16. it has a d-boys metal lower (i had to mill that) with a echo1 plastic upper.
i use it as a suppression weapon and a sniper. so i made a custom 10.8 v battery.
it has a rare one of a kind well gearbox that can handle the battery with out exploding!!
i added new metal bushings and a new piston and it striped the teeth off the piston including
the two metal ones, i replaced it and it happened again
any ideas?

You will need to be more specific on your setup. I am not sure whether you said the gearbox is manufactured by WELL or not. If that is the case, as far as I know, most if not all WELL gearboxes are garbage, and are not rare or made to handle high output batteries. Also I'm pretty sure but not positive, that WELL gearboxes are not even the same shape as normal gearboxes, they have different measurements than other manufacturers, which would explain why the piston does not move, and you had to mill the lower receiver. Also, since you use this mainly as a sniper rifle, i don't see what you are upgrading... it seems like you are trying to upgrade the rate of fire, although i shouldn't be talking considering the gun I've been using lol

anyways, assuming what i said is correct, and this is not an april fools joke, that would be your problem!

hope this helps, good luck!

i had to mill to except the upper receiver, but its basicly a stock well gearbox ive been building custom guns for a few years now and ive never met a well gearbox and motor that can handle any of my custom batterys and this is the first time ive ground off teeth. the piston was moving but realy fast and then it didnt
i was going to build a new gearbox from scratch but i want to put this one in a high rof support gun

ok, well i can't really come up with an answer without seeing the parts myself, but what you should do is make sure the gears are shimmed perfectly, and are making correct contact with the piston teeth. you should also make sure the piston is AoE'd correctly, you may also want to consider short stroking it since you are making a high rof setup, although this will lower your fps.

to prevent your piston from stripping, all i can really say is to make sure its the right part for the gearbox, and when you are assembling the gearbox, make sure it moves as it should. try assembling just the gears and the piston in the gearbox shell, and rotate them to make sure everything moves freely and as it should. I've always done this when working on gearboxes, and for me it works really well. on all my airsoft guns (i have about 7, I've sold others, i probably have had nearly 20 in total), i have never stripped a piston in my life. I am running in my m16 an m130 (or possibly m140 i can't remember) with a 3 year old stock JG plastic piston thats probably had more than 400k rounds in it, and there is still minimal wear considering its age, and it is still running strong.

i think if you use this method when installing your pistons (or other parts), you should prevent most of the problems you are having. otherwise, i really have no experience with stripped pistons, I've never ran into problems with them. hope this helps
