today was the start of our regular airsoft games. from this point on its games every week until it gets too cold to play.

of course it is April, so it rained a few times throughout the day, and we also had high wind. despite this poor weather, we ended up having 13 players. special thanks to the guys from RIT for showing up in force! thats what we need from everyone!

the game was primarily spent at the creek.
we started out with a team death match, it went very well. we had a few epic shots from both side, and went very smoothly.
then we moved on to another death match. we switched sides and battled it out.
each team one a death match, so it was fairly balanced.
then we had a lunch break, and got to work on the field for a while. several bunkers were built, and repaired. if we keep that up we will make this field sick in no time at all!

we ended the day with a VIP scenario. one team defended an unarmed VIP, an the other team was to attack and secure the VIP. (we called it hostage, but it was more of a VIP game). the defend team held off the attackers despite heavy losses right off the bat. most of the losses were due to gun issues, rather than deaths.

for a rainy day, i would say it went very well. hopefully we will keep this momentum going throughout the year! SSA might start to rival the other groups in buffalo and penn yan.

Had a good time for not some bad weather. Turnout from the RIT was excellent biggrin
Eli I debated hanging your m4 in a tree for you to pick up next time because you didn't show up tongue

Btw here's what happened to my mp5.
It broke off the back end of the piston which has actually seen well over 150,000 rounds. It was a nice clean break with no other broken parts. So I put a new piston in it, put it together and pulled the trigger and the heard the arl latch not engaging, the spring must have come loose. The only thing I hated about this gun was the 2 piece arl latch which is almost impossible to keep in place when putting the gearbox back together. Anyway, I heard a nasty crunch and was correct in assuming they arl spring from the post and in between the gears. So with a few missing teeth that was the end of that gearset lol. They were getting old anyway and had the same life as the piston, which is pretty darn good.
So I went into my parts box, looked around, then realized I had a set of kwa gears, (thanks to Colin) I had cleaned up a few months ago. So now my mp5 has a new piston, piston head and the gears. Should be even more solid with the fresh parts. If the weather is warmer I'll use it again this weekend, can't wait to try it out. 5 hours in total, my mp5 is fixed and all the rest of my guns cleaned and dry, yay.

Hey from what i remember our team won both deathmatches because me and mike held off everyone at the very end of the second game lol.

And dont forget my awesome recon spot of standing in the middle of the creek out of range and calling in positions during the VIP game even though Colin had to give away my position by laughing at me otherwise i thought i was pretty invisible lol

yeah, mikes mp5 had amazing range lol. btw today i slimmed down my m16 by removing the bipod and scope stuff, which actually made it alot lighter. as i was putting on a flip up rear sight, i realized it didnt even fit, because the rails on my metal body were not spaced correctly.. i ended up filing the rear sight to make it fit...

gotta love madbull for making parts completely out of tolerances... not only was the hopup unit garbage but the body took me months to get all parts lined up correctly, and now to find out the rails were off...

anyways i cant wait for the next battle and i hope to try out my m16 w/o the bulky scope on there
