13 players max today, not bad at all.
We began today, like many other days, with a quick team death match to warm up. it was a good game, from what i could see. i was killed right off the bat so i watched from a distance. nothing real noteworthy about the game, just a normal TDM

next we moved on to a 2 part VIP game.
part one was defend the VIP, played by me. i was only aloud to use a pistol, and was to be taken alive. my team defended me for a good amount of time, staying very mobile. eventually we were pushed back to the boundary, and picked off. they successfully took the VIP alive and uninjured. a massive success for them, considering the challenges they face. i have to say i was impressed with their efficacy.

part two was an extraction mission. they were to get the VIP to the pond from the top of the ridge. they had to stay together, as a normal extract team would have to do. they moved down one of 2 paths to get to the pond. they chose the longer path with better cover, a good choice because of the cover that trail provides.
Quick rule explanation.
our basic hostage rules do not let people be tied up. why? well those of you who played with us at the house may remember the incident with the handcuffs? basically i was handcuffed to a large support beam, good idea for them, until they lost the key. then it was a problem. so we do not bound the hostages anymore.
our rules also prevent using the hostage as a human shield. thank Jon for that one, being the shield once was enough for me.
finally the rule for hostages carrying a hidden weapon go like this-
hostage can try to carry a hidden gun/knife. BUT it must be easy to find with a basic pat down. no hiding places guys wont touch (for example, crotch area), no sneaky moves to get a gun after the pat down. it has to be fair for the hostage takers.
the reason i always play the hostage is because it is hard to treat both teams fairly even tho you clearly do not want to help the hostage takers in any way. i always try to be unbiased and fair about being the hostage, not making it too easy or too hard for them to defend.

That being said, during part 2, i had a knife on me (fake knife). they did not pat me down at all, it was easy to find right on my back.
i could have killed the guy watching me early on, with all the entire team lined up and easy to kill. BUT i did not. i waited to they were being attacked by the other team, killed one guy with my knife (sorry Ethan, had to do it) then took his rifle to kill the sniper (not sorry at all Austin, you had it coming lol). then i sprinted my ass away as fast as possible. when i realized i was not even being chased i ran back, killing one more guy with the rifle i acquired. the other team killed off the rest of the hostage takers. ending the game

then we took a lunch break.

then we moved on to everyone's favorite, assault the ridge.
first game had 1 AEG and 2 Bolt action snipers. the attacking team and a 3 prong attack, 2 guys trying to scale the ridge with a grenade on the left (facing the ridge), 3 guys providing supporting fire in the middle, and 1 guy distracting them on the right flank. the attacking team had around 30 min. to take the ridge. i was the distraction guy, but i quickly found myself suppressing all 3 defenders. in the chaos, the defending team did not realize that no one was watching me, because the rest of the team seamed like a larger threat. i took the laps in observation and decided to scale the ridge. not my job, but i saw the window of opportunity and i took it. i managed to get right up to the bunkers, safety killing one guy, and shooting 2 others. we took the ridge and the game ended.

next we changed up the groups for attack the ridge, 2 AEGs, 2 bolt action snipers. me, Sean, Austin, and Brian held off against everyone else. we had one guy leave, but 2 show up so it basically meant attack team same size, defend team 1 extra. we managed to hold off against several pushes from the attacking team. they did a good job, but we managed to hold them off until time was up.

finally we ended the day with a 3 on 4 deathmatch. again nothing too special, gun problems made it basically 3 on 3, and with 2 of my guys using gas pistols it seemed hopeless. but they managed to kill a few guys, and we ended up winning the game.

all in all it was a good day, aside from my car getting stuck. not a great way to start the day, but still good.

i really wish i could have been there.. idk if you remember the airsoft "tank" i mentioned that i had with the broken transmission... well today i stripped the whole thing apart and rebuilt the transmission, so it should work now (i havent put the transmission on the frame yet because the bolts are crappy and im gunna buy some new ones).

im thinking maybe this summer if we could pool some money together to possibly build a shed/shelter at the feild, i can bring the mower over there to use. we could use it for towing building supplies, or if people wanted to help, i could turn it into an actual useable airsoft tank. it would be up to you guys, cause i dont really have anything to do with it at my house

lol i think choosing colin as the distraction was a pretty damn good idea, unfortunately the main attack when there was two machine guns and two snipers, went completely wrong no body did anything and we all just ran around doing nothing then we retreated regrouped and tried a new strategy many of our guys made it to the bottom of the cliff but did not last long, mostly cus no one knew colin was right above them all lol

if at first your bbs don't hit them, its time to go full auto

You have a ride on lawn mower? Can you post a link to the make/model?

its a cub cadet, i am unsure of the model. it is really old, like over 20 years old. i rebuilt it from the trash so i am unsure of it's origins. also it has no blade deck

Nice, that would be sick. Once we get the main field part of the field set up with bunkers and forts this would be an awesome addition to some of the ops or even larger games. If we can get a small trailer we could rig that as the armored gun platform and have a kind of 2 part half track.

Now who's going to buy the minigun? biggrin

the only problem is that unless i sold it to someone, i wouldnt really want to keep it in the rain. the motor is in great condition, and i dont want it getting destroyed.. :/
