    changes in 2012
this year we will be doing things a little differently to make games work better and make the field better. all these rules will be in effect when we being regular games in the spring. please take a minute to read through this information. thanks

1.) we will now charge 10$ per person. we do offer discounts to guys who help build, bring stuff for the field, or guys who help SSA in other ways.
College students-5$ off with college ID. (only during regular school year, once summer starts this deal ends)

2.) Kill rags will be required for all players. we will sell rags on the field for 50 cents.

3.) the big change will be with team setup. we will now require all players to bring a Tan and a Green shemagh to every game. we will be selling both colors at the field for 6$ each. you must bring both color shemaghs to each game as teams will change up like we normally play, the only difference is this will reduce team confusion.

your first game of 2012 you must buy the shemaghs to play. if you already have one or both colors you do not have to buy anything. also you will not pay the 10$ fee your first game. so if you have a green shemagh you pay 6$ your first game which gets you the Tan shemagh. if you have both tan and green your first game is free.

Why 10$? well cost are high at our field, and we are not getting far with the low 5$ price. so 10$ will help us make the field better, as well as help pay for some of our bigger projects like the deuce and a half. obviously we do not like charging more, but things are not progressing like we had hopped. if 10$ is too much for you, remember that is only for guys who dont pull their weight on the field. if you come help build, or bring a few 2x4s, or something like that you dont have to pay the 10$, just 5$.

if you have questions, comments, concerns of any kind email them to me at cmoore328@yahoo.com. thanks

Kevin you dont need to tie it around your head, so most of your disagreements are canceled out by that.

the shemagh is used for many different things. its going to work out well because it can be tied easily in many different places, it is clearly visible, and its durable.

it is not more difficult to put on, because you can do a simple knot and its tied on. again your thinking of it tied around your head, which is unnecessary.

the other options like a hat, arm band, etc are ok, but they have limited uses. the shemagh can be used as a hat, an arm band, a scarf, a waist band, and many other areas. the versatility is what we are going for.

believe it or not i actually consider more options before i come to these decisions.

Ah. Then I have no qualms.

I really wondered how you'd respond to my comment, particularly whether you'd take it seriously, give it thought, and whether you'd respond at all. I've played under three airsoft leaders before, one good, one an a-hole, and you.

I keep forgetting that you're not a douche. biggrin

And in that case, I'll wait for nice weather with bated breath, and hope I can still get Saturdays off by the time the weather warms up.

I had to look it up, and shemagh is another term for a Keffiyeh.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keffiyeh

I support any method of team identification. I'm sure most people remember that time the two SEALs were playing, and got a knife kill on someone because the player thought the SEAL was on his team.

But what I was wondering is, why a keffiyeh? Why not a hat/beret, a sash, an armband, a pin, or a balacava? The keffiyeh has several disadvantages that the others don't have:
    *It's hot
*It's not necessary. The point of a keffiyeh is to keep dust out of the eyes. While we have hot summers in NY, we don't have blowing dust much
*It's more difficult than any of the other options to put on
*It can more easily come undone or fall off than the other options
*It has a name that's difficult to pronounce
    *It looks messy

Of course, you're the leader, and I want to play airsoft badly enough that I'd wear a tutu if that's how you want to distinguish players, but I'd at least like to know WHY you selected this method of player identification over any other method.

lots of people come here. we have 58 views on this post, that says something.

and shemaghs are basically larger bandanas that are used by Mideastern countries as head wraps. they are now used by the us military, and other countries operating in desert conditions.
