| Ironically, a heavy full metal gun is one that I really want. The only time I hate having a heavy gun s lugging it around for an hour when traveling to a field, lol. But as I have said, I don't think I'm starting out as a para guy. AN AUG! THAT'S THE ONE I WAS LOOKING FOR! It looks fairly decent, but it looks more of a cqb kinda gun. As for upgrading and things like that, I don't think me personally will be doing that for a while, at least until gears or springs break andd I need to fix them. Then I would probably just upgrade them then. The only reason for a suppressor is for the look I guess. I always loved the way that they look at a gun. I think I'll look for the next few days now before I make my decision.....again. I knew that choosing wouldn't be the easiest thing, but I want to be 100% sure before I get one. Like I said, I'll try out my friends m4 on him and see how I like that, lol. Thanks Mike, and best wishes, Shane

| Augs are pretty sweet. The ones I know of are TM, JG/Echo1, and Classic Army, and I'd stay away from Classic Army anything if you can help it... Demon has the JG version btw. If you didn't know, it has an interesting trigger mech which I kind of like. Half pull for semi, full pull for auto. There's no selector switch. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the p90 is another bullpup design. If you want to save some cash, Echo 1 just rebrands other guns. So the Echo1 m4 is just a JG without all the echo 1 markings and without the few days of warranty. Of course the JG costs a lot less in some cases. Though the E1 warranty can be nice for some people, you still have to pay to ship it to them. No problem, goodluck with deciding.

Didn't think I saw a selector switch on the closeup though, lol. And I did see a lot of crappy reviews for the classic army AUG's.

| I have the JG Aug A3 version. I like it better than the other versions because of the rails already on it. you can always buy a kit later if you want rails if you get the other versions. Btw it also comes with a mosfet chip but no active breaking. The Aug is also a compact gun with the barrel size of an M16. Since bullpup designs have the mag behind the trigger mechanism, longer barrels are accepted into a smaller sized gun. On real steel versions the only danger is having the mags so close to the face but with airsoft not a problem. Also some people can not get comfortable with mags behind the trigger assembly and if using hi caps it may be weird for you to wind the mag. I have no problems with it but just pointing that out. Also the Aug can be made very quiet if you have the time to do the mods for it. I havent done them yet but its still relatively quiet. And mike you also forgot the best bullpup ever the Tavor Ares is the only maker of the Tavor that i know of atm. Here are some pics of my Aug when there was so upgrades in it. Now it has dmr upgrades in it but may be converting into a basic higher speed setup I have no pictures with the suppressor on yet but i'll get one up eventually

| That thing looks awesome demon. Hope to see it in action someday Anyways, I'm in school right now in CAD, and he doesn't seem to mind me doing this. Anyways, the Tavor looks awesome but it has a lower fps without upgrades. I would say more, butit's the end of the period. Best wishes, Shane

| oh pff, I hardly concern myself with Ares guns :P Shane, you have to understand that fps does not mean range and accuracy. For something like a TM... TMs have possibly the best hop up units and even though they're only shooting 280-300fps, some of them can easily beat cheaper quality guns that shoot 400+fps. Fps usually adds to your range, but because there are many different brands, a higher fps doesn't mean a better gun. Augs can be nice and quiet because the entire gearbox is in the stock which is one big piece of plastic. Most guns have the motor in the handgrip and the gearbox is surrounded by the then upper receiver. Augs without rail systems tend to break their foregrips simply due to the flimsy design. A big plus to the RIS system is that you can fit a much sturdier grip, rather than the folding one that comes on the standard aug.

| Mike, I know that fps does not equal accuracy. Actually, most guns that are over 400 don't have very good accuracy. Anyways, apparently the Tavor is made of some kind or mystical material that is not known to man kind, lol. Anyways, I'll still be searching on my gun, but I think I'm gonna work on my video today. Me and my friend only had about 20 minutes to make this video, so it's not the best unfortunatly. Best wishes, Shane Umm, while I was on my search for an AEG, I randomly looked at this http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=5963 It says it doesn't have a gearbox. How does an airsoft gun shoot without a gearbox (spring guns use gearboxes, right?)

| Electric guns have gearboxes because they have gears to pull back the piston. Spring guns don't. Spring guns have a cylinder and some sort of lever/bolt to manually pull the piston back. The piston is released by pulling the trigger which retracts a 'trigger sear' and releases the piston. For example here is a complete reinforced trigger mech for a vsr/bar10: http://www.tokyo-model.com.hk/ecshop/images/200804/1208128866801149517.jpg

| Oh, ok. For some reason I thought there were gears mixed in with the spring. Ok, don't ask me what I was thinking, I knew there was a spring that pulls back on spring guns. Other than that, I was just imagining stuff. Added (2010-10-19, 4:04 PM) --------------------------------------------- Alright, after my long search, I think I have found my dream gun. The Full Metal SIG 552. I'd rather have a 550, but the only ones I can find are bad. If anyone can find a good one, tell me please. One of them is here. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=4759 I'm not sure if ICS is one of the best airsoft companies, but this gun looks awesome. Great fps, great material, and an awesome gun. I actually saw this gun in the game CSS (Counter Strike Source) and I saw this gun and I was like, this gun is awesome, I'm gonna see if there's an airsoft version of it. And sure enough there was. I have a few questions though. 1. Is ICS a good airsoft company 2. Is a folding stock likely to break/snap off. 3. Exactly what parts are metal and what are plastic. 4. What is the likely range for this gun (with .2's, .25's, and .3's I guess) 5. Is this an accurate gun. I think it is, but just want to make sure. 6. And additional information on this gun. Hope this very generous priced gun is a good one! It has 4 5 star reviews, which is a good sign. Thanks for reading and best wishes, Shane

| 1. ICS is probably one of the best companies. 2. Yes, sig stocks are kind of weak. They'll stay on if you treat your gun well, but one mistake/accident... 3. Typically a full metal gun has a metal upper receiver and the lower + pistol grip is plastic. The front grips will be plastic of course and same with the stock. 4. There's no way to know that really. Just assume most guns will be between 120-150ft for the most part when you first buy them. ICS being on the higher end of that range. 5. Again, it's going to come with whatever barrel ICS puts in their guns. It's just an 'average' barrel with a pretty good hop up. Better brands will yield better performance, so ICS guns do perform well. But it is still just a stock gun. 6. Sigs can be really annoying to take apart. Battery space is tiny there's a few fragile parts: stock, foregrips, pistol grip. Personally I sigs look pretty cool but I wouldn't buy a one with the intention to upgrade it very much. The somewhat fragile design of the gun makes it less appealing. Sure sigs look cool, I have maybe 5 of them myself and they are all JG and they perform perfectly average for a stock gun. Two have broken stocks and one of those has a broken pistol grip. The screws ripped part of it out when I tried to raise the motor height... Good idea to have tiny screws holding the motor plate in? I don't think so. G&G makes sigs too, but I've never owned one.

| Ok, I knew that the pistol grip would be plastic, but that sucks that the stock is. That's what I was expecting too. Alright, I guess it's time to go back on my search.......again.

| The only metal stocks are usually wire frames, like on an ak. There's nothing wrong with a plastic stock, most are plastic. It's just that the sig series is weak where the screws fit in.
