Yeah, when I said echo 1 sucks, I meant more along the lines of their reputation and being from china.

I'm not aware of any negative reputation that echo 1 has. They've continued to rebrand plenty of decently reliable models, they honor their warranty and they're constantly working to improve (unlike companies like classic army).

If by bad reputation you mean bad mouthing from gun techs that do hundreds of hours of work, it's impossible to compare a stock gun to timely upgraded model. I've seen plenty of techs use jgs/E1s as platforms for excellent performing guns.
And if by bad reputation you're listening to noobies... well you shouldn't. There's a lot of little kids running around assuming that all guns are crap unless they are full metal and shoot over 450fps regardless of metal quality or bb weight. It's quite a preposterous and delusional state of mind actually.

i take offense to that classic army, its not classics army fault my scars the way it is, it was great and now before i let an idiot handle it and now its great after you (mike) fixed it....as far as im concerned the two best guns ive ever bought are classic army, my thompson which was the first decent gun i bought and thats lasted something like 5 years and still works as good as ever, and my scar which im very proud of is the best gun i own and when it comes to range and fps and etc, it compares with the higher end guns, at least in my opinion but im an awful airsoft tech

if at first your bbs don't hit them, its time to go full auto

But it is classic army's fault! Their tolerances suck so much. I tested all different kinds of gears but the gearbox was so messed up I had to give about 2mm extra clearance to the spur gear. Not to mention all the other various places I had to make little modifications to make it all work out most notably the gear axles. Keep in mind, you did replace a lot of the parts and they are no longer all classic army internals like the cylinder head (which constantly falls apart on CA models).
Imo I wouldn't compare it to the higher end guns for a few reasons, the first being the classic army gears rarely hold up to extreme setups from what I've seen. The second being the g&p piston isn't all that great either, add say an 11.1v lipo and a higher fps spring and it's likely there will be problems. It is still a mile ahead of the CA stock piston though. And the final reason being that there aren't actually any accuracy upgrades on it. Some of the most decent stock barrels are made by TM because they have such consistent tolerances. I'm not trying to completely shoot down your gun, all my statements are made based on the stock performance vs. the stock performance of a higher end model. If you added a few more upgrades it could turn out quite well, the only concern I'd have would be the gearbox cracking under a new spring ect. After all it's a v2 and it's not something I'd risk breaking on a CA scar. But a new barrel/bucking may show some nice improvement.
Obviously I'm a bit biased towards CA, but pretty justified after seeing so many broken CA guns. A lot of them broke in under 1000 rounds because they're lacking in quality/consistency.

I mean absolutely no offense, but if the thompson was your first decent aeg, and the scar your second it's really a pretty clear cut choice of what will have been your best guns wink

Ok, I deferentially see your point there. Personally, I love full metal guns over polymer/abs plastic because I love the feel of it and I notice that the metal parts of my gun got FREEZING cold when I went outside with it for 10 minutes in 20 degree weather. For some reason I like that (the authentic feel or something) but I also see if the metal was bad, that could result in a bad situation.

But anyways, plastic on a gun cam be essential to a gun, like grip and most types of stocks. And like I've heard from you guys here and many other people, fps doesn't mean very much in a gun, the power and energy is more important than that, it shows how far and accurate it will go. Anyways, thanks for clearing things up for me. I forget occasionally that people on the internet can be intelligent, mature people, or immature 8 year olds.
